Spanish language domain has one bidder; auction ends Saturday.

An auction for Poquer.com, which means Poker in Spanish and Portuguese, ends on Saturday at Sedo. The domain has attracted one bidder for EUR 60,000, which translates to roughly $87,500 USD. I did some fact checking with a friend from Brazil who speaks Portuguese. Although poquer literally translates to poker, he said it’s not used that way much in practice. People prefer to call it poker with a “k”, he says.

Moniker’s silent auction in conjuction with PubCon ends this afternoon. There are over 2,500 domains in the silent auction. I have gone through the entire list, and have a suggestion for silent auction managers — limit auctions to about 500 domains, tops. It’s painstaking to go through the entire list, especially when there are so many bad our outrageously priced domains.

I had to filter through domains such as BusinessDirectory.info for $100,000, BlogPosts.com for $250,000, Louisville.info for $500,000, and JobsOpening.com for $141,000. (The latter, if the ’s’ was at the end of ‘openings’, might be worth a decent sum).

I haven’t come up with many I want to bid on, but there are a few domains that have attracted attention. Beyond50.com is at $1,500, NewCarPreview.com $360, WholeLifePolicies.com has three bidders at $500, MyOnlineTutor.com $360, ReverseHomeMortgageLoan.com $396, and PhotoID.org $1,200.
